The Ghana Dental Association (GDA) is launching its nationwide Oral Health Awareness Campaign this month under the theme “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life.” The campaign aims to promote good oral health practices while addressing the growing concern of dental quackery in Ghana.
Through this initiative, the Association seeks to educate the public on safe and proper dental care, debunk common myths surrounding oral health, and encourage individuals to seek treatment only from qualified and licensed dental professionals. Oral health is a vital part of overall well-being, and improving public awareness is key to preventing avoidable dental diseases.
As part of the campaign, the Ghana Dental Association will:
• Raise awareness about the dangers of dental quackery
• Debunk common oral health myths and misinformation
• Educate the public on proper oral hygiene and preventive care
• Promote the GDA Verified Dentist Database to help the public identify licensed dentists
The campaign calls on the public to support the fight against unqualified dental practice and to help promote safe, professional dental care across the country.
